Episode 7

Fashion - From Thongs to Leprechauns with special guests Alena LeBlanc and Heather Riggs

Welcome to the Middle Age(ish) Podcast, hosted by Ashley Bedosky, Lisa Kelly, Dr. Pam Wright, and Trisha Kennedy Roman. In this episode we talk with Alena LeBlanc and Heather Riggs all about fashion and style.

Alena is a personal stylist and fashion designer who works with career women to help them look and feel their best. She is the founder of LeBlanc Label. Heather is the founder of HER Style, LLC and host of HER Style Podcast.  As a 15-year Certified Image Consultant and Color Specialist, Heather helps ambitious women show up ─ and get dressed every day ─ with confidence. Both women offered great tips to help us pick the right colors and styles to fit our individual body types.

“I like getting creative using things that you already own. So I'll try to make like three different looks for them that they would never have thought of. So it gives the piece more life.” – Alena LeBlanc

We talked about each of our own fashion challenges and what is important to each of us to make us feel more confident about the way we look. Ashley talked about how good shoes and a handbag can create an outfit for her to make her feel her best. Lisa noted hair and make-up was more important to her than the outfit. Trisha shared her idea of “holiday pants” only to find out that her genius idea had already been taken by Joey on Friends. Pam gave us the story of how she got the black eye that she perfectly coordinated with her shirt!

Heather noted that today’s technology has allowed her to have clients from all over the world. ”That's the great thing about today. You know, you can work with people from anywhere using Zoom and things like that. It's really easy to be able to just go right into your client's wardrobes and see what they're working with.” – Heather Riggs

As per the norm our conversation took lots of hilarious pivots, going from discussing celebrity style to thongs to being completely devastated to learn that Ireland doesn’t really have leprechauns! Hence, the unique name of this episode.
